By thickness & grade
CRNGO coil grades by thickness
Pick thickness first by your stamping and frequency needs, then grade by how much core loss you can trade for cost.

| 0.65 mm | 65W800 | M800-65A | 65A800 | 8.00 W/kg | 1.70 T | Large, low-speed, cost-driven motors |
Guaranteed limits per IEC 60404-8-4 (Epstein test); measured values for each coil are reported on its mill test certificate. AISI M-grades carry no fixed thickness or loss limit, so they don’t map one-to-one — if you work to an ASTM A677 / AISI spec, send it and we’ll propose the closest GB grade with data. Need lower loss at 0.35 mm? See M270-35A. Full grade detail: Standard CRNGO.

What is CRNGO steel coil?
CRNGO steel coil is cold-rolled non-oriented silicon steel whose magnetic properties are nearly uniform in every direction of the sheet plane — the standard core material for rotating machines, where flux direction changes continuously as the rotor turns. For transformer cores, where flux follows one direction, see our CRGO steel coil instead.
Coil is the starting form for lamination production: it is slit to strip width, then blanked or progressively stamped into stator and rotor laminations.

FAQ
Sourcing CRNGO coil from us
What is CRNGO steel coil used for?
It is used to make stator and rotor laminations for electric motors, generators, compressors and appliance drives — machines where flux direction rotates. Grade and thickness are chosen by efficiency target, operating frequency and stamping process. For transformer cores, grain-oriented CRGO coil is normally used instead.
What’s the difference between master, mill-edge and slit coil?
Master coil is the full-width coil as rolled. Mill-edge coil keeps that as-rolled width and natural edge with no slitting. Slit coil is cut to your strip width, ready to feed a press. Choose based on whether you slit in-house.
Which thickness should I choose — 0.35, 0.50 or 0.65mm?
0.35 mm for lower loss and higher-frequency motors; 0.50 mm for most industrial motors; 0.65 mm for large, low-speed, cost-driven designs. Share your motor size, speed and frequency and we’ll recommend one.
What do 50W470, 50W600 and 50W800 mean?
“50” is the thickness (0.50 mm); the number after “W” is the maximum core loss ×100 at 1.5 T / 50 Hz — so 50W470 is ≤ 4.70 W/kg. The same logic applies to 35W300 and 65W800.
Can you match an EN, JIS or ASTM grade?
EN and JIS grades map directly by thickness and loss class — for example M470-50A ≈ 50W470 ≈ 50A470. AISI / ASTM grades need a data check. Send your spec and we’ll confirm the closest match. See the grade equivalents chart.
What coil weight and inner diameter do you supply?
Inner diameter is 508 mm standard, 610 mm on request. Master coils run approximately 3–8 t; slit coils are wound to your decoiler limit.
Which insulation coating should I specify?
It depends on how you build the core — welded, interlocked or bonded stacks — and whether laminations are stress-relief annealed after stamping. Tell us your core-building process and we’ll recommend a coating.
What’s the MOQ and lead time?
MOQ depends on grade, thickness and width — a full master coil typically runs 3–8 t. Quotes come within 24 hours. 50W470, 50W600 and 50W800 in common widths often ship from stock in days; custom-slit widths and 65W800 typically take a few weeks.
Do you provide free samples and a mill test certificate?
Yes — free samples are usually ready within about a week, so you can test core loss and stampability before committing to a full coil. Every coil ships with a mill test certificate showing measured core loss and induction.
