Definitions
What is electrical steel?
Electrical steel — also called silicon steel, lamination steel or transformer steel — is a low-carbon iron alloy with roughly 0.5–3.5% silicon, cold-rolled into thin sheet and stacked into cores. The silicon raises electrical resistivity, so the steel carries magnetic flux with far less energy lost as heat than ordinary carbon steel. It comes in three families, separated by how the crystal grains are aligned and how thin the strip is rolled.
Grain-oriented (CRGO)
Silicon steel rolled and annealed so its grains line up with the rolling direction, giving the lowest core loss when flux travels along that one axis — the standard core material for transformers.
Definition & grades →Non-oriented (CRNGO)
Silicon steel with randomly oriented grains, so magnetic properties are near-identical in every direction — the choice for motors, generators and compressors, where the field rotates.
Definition & grades →Ultra-thin strip
Silicon steel rolled to 0.05–0.20 mm so eddy-current loss stays low above 400 Hz — used in high-frequency transformers, reactors and high-speed traction motors. Available grain-oriented and non-oriented.
Definition & gauges →Laminations & cores
A lamination is one stamped sheet of electrical steel; insulated laminations stacked into a core stop eddy currents circulating through the steel block. We supply coil, sheet, slit strip and finished laminations.

Sourcing from China
A silicon steel mill and exporter, not a trading desk
We roll, slit, anneal and coat in Wuxi, Jiangsu, and handle export documentation ourselves — so the grade you approve on the sample is the grade that leaves the plant, and one team owns the order from spec to bill of lading. Transformer and motor makers across Europe, the Americas, Southeast Asia and the Middle East buy on repeat contracts as well as spot coils.

FAQ
Sourcing silicon steel from us
What is electrical steel, and is silicon steel the same thing?
Yes — electrical steel, silicon steel, lamination steel and transformer steel all name the same material: a cold-rolled iron alloy with about 0.5–3.5% silicon, used as the magnetic core of transformers, motors and generators because it carries flux with very little energy lost as heat. It splits into grain-oriented (CRGO), non-oriented (CRNGO) and ultra-thin grades.
Are you a manufacturer or a trading company?
We are a manufacturer and direct exporter based in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province. Rolling, slitting, annealing, laser scribing and coating are done in house, and a mill test certificate ships with every coil. Export paperwork is handled by our own team rather than an agent.
What coil sizes and weights do you supply?
Standard coils run 508 mm inner diameter (610 mm on request), slit to width from 8–1,250 mm. Coil weight is around 5 t for CRGO and roughly 3–8 t for CRNGO; ultra-thin strip ships in smaller coils. Tell us your decoiler limits and we’ll match ID and weight.
What is your annual capacity, and can you support a long-term contract?
Capacity is around 200,000 tonnes a year across grain-oriented, non-oriented and ultra-thin lines. That supports both one-off coils and annual contract tonnage — send your target volume and we’ll confirm what’s workable.
What’s the difference between grain-oriented and non-oriented silicon steel?
Grain-oriented (CRGO) steel is rolled so its grains align on one axis, giving the lowest loss where flux runs one way — transformer cores. Non-oriented (CRNGO) steel has random grains, so it performs the same in every direction — for motors and generators where the field rotates.
How do I choose the right grade for my transformer or motor?
Start with how the field moves — one axis points to CRGO, a rotating field to CRNGO — then pick thickness by frequency and grade by whether loss, cost or strength matters most. Send us the application and we’ll recommend a grade and gauge.
Can you match a specific grade, like M400-50A or 50W470?
Yes — we supply across GB, EN, JIS and AISI, and can cross-reference your grade to the Chinese equivalent. Send the grade or a datasheet and we’ll confirm the match and quote.
What’s the minimum order quantity?
MOQ depends on grade, thickness and width. Tell us your target volume and we’ll confirm what’s workable — trial quantities are possible for new projects.
How fast can you quote and ship?
Quotes come within 24 hours. Common grades often ship from stock in days; made-to-order runs and non-standard widths typically take a few weeks.
Do you provide samples?
Yes — free samples are usually ready within about a week, so you can test the material before committing.
Which standards and certifications do you hold?
Production runs under ISO 9001 and IATF 16949, with material to GB, EN, JIS or AISI grades and RoHS / REACH compliance. A mill test certificate ships with every order.
Can you cut to my sizes?
Yes — precision slitting to width, cut-to-length sheet, and stamped laminations to your drawing.
How do you handle export?
Seaworthy, moisture-proof packaging on coils or pallets, shipped to any port. We’ll align on payment terms at the order stage.
