CRGO Steel — Cold-Rolled Grain-Oriented Electrical Steel (CGO & Hi-B)

CRGO steel is our core product family: cold-rolled grain-oriented silicon steel for transformer cores, rolled from 0.18 to 0.35 mm in conventional (CGO) and high-permeability (Hi-B) grades. It covers GB grades 23Q110 through 35Q155 and their Hi-B equivalents, cross-referenced to AISI M4–M6, EN 10107 and JIS C 2553 — supplied as coil, sheet or precision slit strip with C5 or C6 insulation and a mill test certificate.

FAQ

Sourcing CRGO from us

What is CRGO steel?

CRGO — cold-rolled grain-oriented silicon steel — has its grain structure aligned to the rolling direction, giving very low core loss and high permeability along that axis. It is the standard core material for power and distribution transformers operating at 50/60 Hz.

What is the difference between conventional CGO and Hi-B CRGO?

Both are grain-oriented. Hi-B (high-permeability) grades have sharper grain alignment and often laser or mechanical domain refinement, so at the same thickness they show lower loss and higher B8 — at a higher price. CGO covers the majority of cost-sensitive designs.

Which thickness should I choose?

Thinner gauges (0.18–0.23 mm) cut no-load loss and suit high-efficiency or higher-frequency cores; thicker gauges (0.30–0.35 mm) favour material economics and larger, lower-frequency cores. Core size and efficiency target decide it — send both and we advise.

How do M4/M5/M6 relate to GB grades?

As a working guide: M4 ≈ 23Q110, M5 ≈ 27Q120, M6 ≈ 30Q130/35Q155. These are close equivalents, not identical specs; we confirm against your datasheet before quoting.

Do you supply coil, sheet or slit strip?

All three — master or mill-edge coils, cut-to-length sheet, and precision slit strip to your width.

What surface coating and tolerances do you offer?

Standard C5 inorganic coating; C6 inorganic-organic on request. Thickness tolerance ± 4% of nominal; width tolerance ± 1.0 mm on slit strip.

Can you provide laser-scribed / domain-refined CRGO?

Yes, for the thinner Hi-B grades where further loss reduction is needed. Specify the target P1.7/50 and we quote the matching grade.

Can you match EN, JIS or AISI grades?

Yes — cross-reference to GB, EN 10107, JIS C 2553 and AISI is provided. Send the datasheet for confirmation.

What are your minimum order and lead time?

MOQ depends on grade, thickness and width; common gauges are often available within days, non-standard widths typically need several weeks. Free samples usually ship within one week.

What standards and certifications apply?

ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 production; material to GB, EN, JIS or AISI; RoHS/REACH compliance; mill test certificate with every shipment.
