Form 01 · Coil
Master coil & mill-edge coil
The raw form for buyers who slit, cut or stamp on their own line. Wound to your inner diameter and target coil weight, C5/C6-coated, with a mill test certificate on every coil.

Form 02 · Sheet
Cut-to-length sheet
Coil sheared to your specified length — for buyers who don’t run coil-fed stamping, or who need flat blanks for shearing, laser cutting or sample evaluation before committing to a coil order.

Form 03 · Slit strip
Precision-slit strip
Coil slit to a narrow, tight-tolerance width for progressive-die stamping lines, or for winding directly into C-cores and toroidal cores without a separate stamping step.

Form 04 · Laminations
Stamped & laser-cut laminations
Send a drawing and we stamp to it — die-cut for volume runs, laser-cut for prototypes and low volumes or where die cost isn’t justified. Insulation coating and stacking factor are matched to your thickness and grade.

Stacking factor by thickness
Stacking (lamination) factor falls as gauge gets thinner — factor it into your core-window calculation at ultra-thin thicknesses. Per IEC 60404-13.

Step-lap and wound cores are usually built from grain-oriented slit strip or coil, wound or stacked in-house to your core design.

Sourcing electrical steel by form
What forms do you supply electrical steel in?
Four forms across every grade: master coil, cut-to-length sheet, precision-slit strip, and stamped or laser-cut laminations. All four are available in grain-oriented (CRGO), non-oriented (CRNGO) and ultra-thin silicon steel.
What’s the difference between slit strip and cut-to-length sheet?
Slit strip is cut along the coil’s length to a narrow width and stays coiled — used for progressive-die stamping or direct core winding. Sheet is cut across the coil to a fixed length and lies flat — used for shearing, single-blank stamping or sample evaluation.
Can you supply stamped laminations to my drawing?
Yes — die-cut for volume production, or laser-cut for prototypes and low volumes where tooling cost isn’t justified. Send your drawing with grade and thickness and we’ll quote both routes.
What stacking factor should I expect at my thickness?
It falls as gauge gets thinner: roughly ≥0.97 at 0.50–0.65 mm, ≥0.965 at 0.27–0.30 mm, ≥0.955 at 0.23 mm, and ≥0.90 at ultra-thin 0.10–0.20 mm gauges. Build the applicable factor into your core-window calculation, especially at thin gauges.
What coil sizes and weights do you supply?
Standard inner diameter is 508 mm (610 mm on request). Coil weight runs approximately 2–8 t for grain-oriented and 3–8 t for non-oriented, up to about 10 t for grain-oriented mother coil. Width ranges up to roughly 1,250 mm slit to your specification.
Do you supply the same forms for CRGO and CRNGO?
Yes — coil, sheet, slit strip and laminations are available across both families, and across ultra-thin gauges. Tolerances differ slightly by family; see the tables above.
What tolerances do you hold on width and thickness?
Thickness tolerance is roughly ±4% of nominal (±0.02 mm on common CRNGO gauges). Width tolerance is about ±1.0 mm as rolled, tightening to ±0.1–0.3 mm on precision-slit strip, with camber controlled to ≤5 mm per 2,000 mm.
What’s the minimum order quantity by form?
Full coils carry the highest MOQ; cut sheet and slit strip run smaller since they’re processed from stock or smaller lot sizes. Laminations depend on your part size and whether we die-cut or laser-cut. Tell us the form and target volume and we’ll confirm what’s workable.
How fast can you quote and ship?
Quotes come within 24 hours for any form. Common grades and widths in coil or sheet often ship from stock in days; slit strip, custom sheet sizes and laminations typically take a few weeks depending on volume.
