Non-Oriented Silicon Steel Coil (Non-Oriented Silicon Steel Coil, N.O. Si Steel Coil), also known as non-oriented electrical steel coil, is an iron-silicon alloy with a silicon content of 0.5%–4.5%. Currently, Zhongxin Special Steel supplies multiple grades of non-oriented silicon steel coils – including high-grade (low core loss), medium-grade, regular-grade, and various insulation coating types – widely used in motors, compressors, generators, new energy vehicle drive motors, and other fields.

Non-Oriented Silicon Steel Coil – Surface Treatment
Surface treatment of non-oriented silicon steel not only meets insulation and corrosion resistance requirements but also effectively ensures inter-laminar resistance, reduces eddy current losses, and prevents rust during transportation and storage.
Insulation Coating Types
- Inorganic Coating (Type S) : Phosphate-chromate based, withstanding up to 800°C and stress relief annealing. Suitable for cores that require annealing.
- Semi-organic Coating (Type A) : Inorganic + organic hybrid, withstanding up to 450°C. Good stampability and high inter-laminar resistance, ideal for high-speed stamping and stacking.
- Organic Coating (Type O) : Polymer resin coating, withstanding up to 200°C. Excellent lubrication, suitable for high-speed stamping dies.
Surface Appearance
- Ordinary Surface: No special treatment, retains the original annealed metal color.
- Skin-passed Surface: Smoother, denser surface obtained by temper rolling, improving stacking factor.
- Oil-coated Surface: Coated with anti-rust oil, providing short-term rust protection for long-term storage and sea transportation.

Through leveling production lines, we flatten non-oriented silicon steel coils and shear them into flat sheets at fixed lengths. Common grades are available from stock, with delivery times ranging from 5 to 45 working days.
Packaging
We employ precision export grade packaging, including vertical/horizontal coil wrapping options. Each coil is wrapped in plastic film, moisture proof paper, galvanized iron sheet, stretch film, and steel strapping to ensure product integrity during long distance transport and harsh conditions. (Standard coil weights range from 3–8 tons. Wooden or steel pallets can be used upon request, with customizable packaging weights.)
